Welcome to A Figment Of My Imagination Pet Photography
We are Bruce and
Debbie Parkhurst, and we’d like to tell you a little
about ourselves, and our photography...
Bruce has been photographing wildlife
since he was a child, mentored by his father, Hank Parkhurst. Those
of you who were married in the St. Petersburg area during the 70’s
and 80’s may have wedding photos taken by Bruce’s father.
Debbie has a special way with animals,
fostered by her mother, who was a breeder of Grand Champion Siamese
cats. She grew up in a house with everything from flying squirrels
to snakes, and showed horses for Randolph Farms, formerly of Indian
Rocks,  and
has done extensive work with and for veterinarians.
We are both avid birdwatchers
and have traveled across the country to see hundreds of birds, Bruce
having catalogued more than 600 species of birds.
We’ve spent a great deal of time
in the outdoors, photographing animals and their surroundings, and
in doing so have become very familiar with the natural order of
things. We believe that these experiences will help us to photograph
your pet and provide you with photos that are unique and imaginative,
creating a keepsake of your pet that will last a lifetime.
Our goal is to photograph your pet
in an environment that is most comfortable for the animal. We will
come to your home, or to any location you choose. We are fully bonded
and insured. Our main concern is to work in a setting that is stress-free
for your pet.
We use state of the art digital equipment,
and then your photos are professionally processed on archival paper,
which will not fade with time. We feel this traditional method of
processing will provide the best and most permanent results.
We look forward to creating images
that will reflect your love for your pet. Having pets of our own,
a Golden Retriever named “Figment” Of My Imagination,
(our namesake) and a Blue Point Siamese cat named Captain “Taz”
Spastic. We know the special bond you have with your pet, and would
like to capture that special bond with photographs that will fill
you with the love and wonder that comes from sharing your heart
with your pet.
