Most of what I photograph is already happening. The way your daughter leans into you without thinking about it. The look your husband gives you across the room when he thinks no one is watching. The half-second a kid's face breaks open into a real laugh. None of that is something I make happen. It's already there. My job is to notice it.

I think I notice these things because I didn't grow up around a lot of them. That shaped how I see, and it shapes how I shoot now, across families, engagements, and weddings. I'm not trying to direct your day into something it isn't. I'm trying to pay close enough attention that you get to keep the parts that mattered.

I'm Jamie. I moved to Phoenix in 2004, so I've been here long enough to know the valley like a local, but I still remember what it feels like to be the new person trying to figure out which parts of this place feel like home. I photograph families and couples in Gilbert, Chandler, Arcadia, Queen Creek, Tempe, downtown, your backyard, the park your kids beg to go to.

I'll guide you when guiding helps. I'll get out of the way when getting out of the way is what makes the photo. Either way, the goal is the same. Photos that look like your actual life, not someone else's idea of it.
